TRUE project available in schools!
After two years of development, testing and validation, the Trustworthy news and Related content for a Unified writing Environment (TRUE) project has been made available to Portuguese primary and secondary schools.
The result of a partnership between Público, MOG Technologies and the University of Aveiro, the collaborative platform enables the creation of digital school newspapers free of charge. The initiative, made available through PÚBLICO na Escola, contributes to bringing quality journalism to educational institutions.
The aim is to encourage the younger generation to write news texts based on credible sources. By developing the habit of researching information in reliable media outlets, they are able to create and disseminate relevant data in their respective contexts (thus combating fake news).
It’s a way of revitalizing school newspapers and encouraging critical thinking in children and teenagers.
