ABOUT US
Social iVX is a multidisciplinary team affiliated with the DigiMedia research centre at the University of Aveiro. It develops and manages various research projects within the television ecosystem, including the integration of social networks in entertainment scenarios, interactive television (iTV), video mobile applications and IoT solutions.
In addition to the development and evaluation of our own prototypes, we also carry evaluations of systems designed by other universities or enterprises. This work takes place in our User Experience (UX) lab. The evaluations we conduct in the lab cover all stages of the creative process. We also validate solutions developed in different contexts.
Our UX evaluation infrastructure simulates a living room, providing the same comfort people have at their homes, completed with a sofa, a curtain for regulating light and even a blanket for colder days! The space is monitored by strategically placed cameras. All the content is recorded and can be viewed through the dedicated software in the control room.
To ensure privacy during tests, a drop curtain separates the two rooms. The researcher in charge can communicate with the participants using an intercom system. Furthermore, companies and universities from other countries have the opportunity to conduct tests remotely, under the supervision of experienced researchers from the Social iVX group.
